American Airlines Exceptional Baggage

If you're travelling with golf equipment, for example, you'll be charged the same amount as your destination's first or second baggage fee. You can bring one golf bag with up to 14 clubs, 12 golf balls, and one pair of golf shoes on your trip. Additional oversize and overweight costs will apply if the golf bag contains anything other than the allowed items.

If you're travelling with a small musical instrument, it can be carried in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you on a first-come, first-served basis. They can be checked into your hold luggage if they are too bulky to carry in the cabin. A maximum height of 381cm and a maximum weight of 75kg are the maximum dimensions.

American Airlines Carry on Allowance

One carry-on item measuring 22 x 14 x 9 in (56 x 36 x 23 cm) plus a personal item measuring 18 x 14 x 8 in (56 x 36 x 23 cm) for Basic Economy, Economy, and higher fares; one carry-on item measuring 22 x 14 x 9 in (56 x 36 x 23 cm) for Economy and higher fares; one carry-on item measuring 22 x 14 (45 x 35 x 20 cm).
